Danger lurks

A word from the heart of God: Danger lurks.

I saw a post recently of two small children playing ball by a lake. Lurking in the water with an alligator. The children played innocently while danger was in close proximity. Fortunately, the children were distracted and left the area and no harm came to them, but it is a lesson on how danger lurks beside us daily. In my opinion, abuse thrives in places where you least expect it and the most disarming place may be religion. I’ve seen scripture weaponized and taken out of context for the benefit of the person using the word of God to build their own self-image. I read a post that says, “Here’s the hard truth: God does not endorse abuse, control, or manipulation — no matter how religious the abuser sounds. Anyone who uses Christianity to dominate others is not reflecting Christ; they’re exploiting belief for power. Recognizing this isn’t bitterness or rebellion, it’s clarity. And clarity is often the first step toward both emotional healing and a healthier, more honest faith.” Be mindful of where danger lurks.

You are loved, Kris
