Empathy

A word from the heart of God: Empathy.

I attended my granddaughter's graduation from preschool to kindergarten yesterday. The theme was emotions and it was the cutest thing ever. Being an emotionally mature individual will serve you well in life. The teachers equated emotions with colors. An example was: red for anger and yellow for love. Today, I sensed the word empathy. When I think of that emotion, I think of gentleness, grace, and tenderness. When you empathize with a person, it’s almost like you step into their circumstance and align yourself with what they’re going through, which creates a softness in you and a willingness to be kind, helpful, and compassionate. 1 Peter 3:8 declares, “Finally, all of you, have unity of mind, sympathy, brotherly love, a tender heart, and a humble mind.” We are commanded to share in one another's joys and sorrows, bearing each other's burdens, and showing deep compassion to one another.

You are loved, Kris
