Incense

A word from the heart of God; Incense.

Have you ever smelled incense? It’s a spice or other substance that is burned and it gives off a sweet smell. As I heard this word, I immediately sensed that maybe we should ask the question; what scent or aroma do we give off? 2 Corinthians 15-17 is a passage which describes Christians as the "aroma of Christ" to God, and says that the fragrance is perceived differently by those who are being saved and those who are perishing. The passage compares the fragrance to the sweet incense burned in the Tabernacle and Temple, which represented the presence of God. I find that so beautiful. We, as children of the Lord, have an aroma of Christ to God. The aroma actually has a scent that has a fragrance of sweet incense that was burned in the Tabernacle. We always talk about what God sees when He looks at you but now you know the beautiful scent He smells when He sees you as well. As His children, we are a gift to God. Please honor that position and call it sacred.

You are loved, Kris
