Sin

A word from the heart of God: Sin.

What does the Bible say about sin? The Bible defines sin as any action, thought, or attitude that disobeys or falls short of God's perfect standards. Ultimately, sin separates people from God. Because God is holy and righteous, sin is completely opposed to His nature and separates humanity from His presence. Romans 6:23 says, “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” While sin carries a heavy penalty, the central message of the Bible is hope. The “wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life” through Jesus Christ. We all sin and we all, through confession and repentance, can receive God's boundless mercy.
