A Guardrail
A word from the heart of God: A Guardrail.
When my children were younger, I had guardrails on their beds. They were there as a precaution so that they would not fall out and harm themselves. I think sometimes we forget that Jesus warns us just as clearly as He makes promises to us. Jesus’s warnings are not threats. I see them as guardrails. He exposes the dangers that lead people off the narrow path and into deception. Promises reveal what is available, warnings reveal what is at risk. It is extremely important that you understand both of these things. Understanding the promises without the warnings leads to presumption. Understanding the warnings without the promises leads to despair. Jesus gave both so His people could walk securely in truth. Guardrails are there for a divine reason. It could be very costly if you ignore them.
You are loved, Kris
