A Vow
A word from the heart of God: A Vow.
What do you think of when you hear the word vow? I think most people think of marriage because when you get married, you commit to one another and you say vows to each other. In the Bible, a vow is a voluntary, solemn promise made to God. It typically involves committing to offer a sacrifice, dedicate a person or property, or perform a specific action if God grants a request. Once spoken, a vow is viewed as a binding spiritual obligation that must be fulfilled. That is pretty powerful when you think about it, especially for those who have dishonored a vow they made. Scripture teaches that God takes a vow very seriously. Breaking a promise made to God is treated as a serious sin. We need to take vows much more seriously because breaking them truly breaks God's heart.
You are loved, Kris
