Abide

A word from the heart of God: Abide.

What does it mean to abide? In the Bible, to abide means to remain, dwell, or continue in a close, unbroken relationship with God. The keyword here is unbroken. I think we all have to ask ourselves: Do we ever break away from God? This is a really important question to know the answer to. God’s not seeking perfection. We are children in His eyes. But He is seeking that we abide in Him. That He becomes our dwelling place and that our relationship with Him cannot be broken by this world. “Let what you heard from the beginning abide in you. If what you heard from the beginning abides in you, then you too will abide in the Son and in the Father.” 1 John 2:24.  Make this your daily prayer: Lord, abide in me as I will forever abide in you.
