Eternal value

A word from the heart of God: Eternal value.

The word eternal means existing forever and the word value means something of importance or worth. Maybe God is trying to get us to evaluate some of the things we may be choosing to focus on in our lives. Pursuing the things of this world doesn't have any eternal value. 1 John 2:17 says, “The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever.” This is so powerful. It's a clear reminder that some of the foolish things we focus on truly won't matter. All our possessions stay here on earth when you go to be with the Lord, so choosing them over God may not be a wise decision. Seek God first and all things will be returned to you. Matthew 22:37 says, “And he said to him, ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’” This is the great and first commandment and that has eternal value!
