From Universe to Manger

A word from the heart of God; From Universe to Manger. 

Today, Christmas Day we reflect upon Jesus. Isaiah 9:6 says, “For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” What a beautiful God we serve. He, in His Sovereignty, loved humanity so much that He made the greatest sacrifice. God transcended to Earth as Jesus, taking on human nature lives among us. God's transcendence is a way of referring to His lordship over the world and His power to heal, rescue, and redeem. Jesus was the Son of God who took on human nature and entered the womb of a woman. Jesus' death paid for the sins of humanity against God. God's love for humanity is rooted in our identity as His image-bearers. By sending Jesus to die for sins, God is working to restore His glory in and through us. And we call Him “wonderful counselor, mighty god, everlasting father, and prince of peace.” Merry CHRISTmas.
