God Himself

A word from the heart of God: God Himself.

I was listening to a Pastor recently who said, “One of the greatest tricks the devil has ever done is to lure people away from God by giving them other things to worship.” That is a pretty powerful statement right there. In my opinion, I think people drift around, trying to find spirituality from other things that take them away from God Himself. Lust is a prime example. In the Bible, lust is not “killed” by trying to fight it directly. Instead, Scripture teaches that it loses its power by actively running away from temptation, starving sinful desires, and replacing them with a focus on God. God Himself will always be the answer. “Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.” Colossians 3: 2. God must occupy the forefront of our minds in order to ensure that the devil doesn’t lie and deceive us with false gods that distract us from God Himself. Jesus is the head of the body, so that in everything He might have the supremacy, by heavenly rights. He should be our focus.
