Hate the things God hates

A word from the heart of God; Hate the things God hates.

Proverbs 6:16-19 lists several things God "hates," including haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, and a heart that devises wicked schemes. While the phrase "hate what God hates" is often used, it's important to understand the context and interpret it as a strong disapproval of harmful actions rather than literal hatred towards individuals. Hate what God hates means to actively oppose and morally condemn the things that the Bible describes as being against God's will, such as pride, injustice, violence against the innocent, lying, and malicious actions. Essentially, align your moral compass with what is considered "good" according to God's teachings by actively rejecting the "evil" aspects. How do you defeat sin in your life? I believe the answer is to increase your love for God and ask God to help you hate the things that tear you away from Him. Learning to hate the sin in your life that hurts God will actually help you draw closer to God and ultimately, I believe, will prompt you to stop choosing sin over righteousness.

You are loved, Kris
