In Silence

A word from the heart of God: In silence.

Powerful word today. Silence, in essence, means complete absence of sound. Today, God is asking us what are we doing in our time of complete absence of sound? Interesting right? I don’t think we ever really think about that. The Bible is very clear on silence. Scripture tells us that silence can help us avoid sinning (Proverbs 10:19), gain respect (Proverbs 11:12), and is deemed wise and intelligent (Proverbs 17:28). Silence is not only the absence of sound and speech; it is also referred to as quieting of our minds. The world is filled with noise and we unknowingly clutter our lives with it, and we especially clutter our minds with it. Let’s pray: Heavenly Father, remove all the worldly noise from my life. Help me to see clearly with divine eyes. Help me quiet myself down so my spirit is rested in you. My heart desires to master the art of silence, for I know it is there that I will find you. Amen.
