Listen

A word from the heart of God: Listen.

In a world filled with noise and distractions, this is not so easy to do. I was recently getting a pedicure and while they were taking care of me, the owner decided to talk to several of his employees. He was so loud and rude that I couldn’t even hear what was going on around me because his voice drowned out everything else. I encourage you to be aware of the things that may be drowning out the voice of the Lord in your life. God's voice is tender and soft. Kings 19:11-12 says, “God speaks not in the great wind or earthquake, but in a ‘gentle whisper.’” That is beautiful when you think about it. A gentle whisper is calming and peaceful, and that is how God ministers to us. Be intentional about safeguarding your peace. Listening requires the ability to actually hear. God never stops speaking. All we have to do is tune in to His gentle whisper.
