Love is not enough

Proverbs 24:3 says, “By wisdom a house is built and through understanding it is established, and through knowledge its rooms are filled with rare and beautiful treasures.” God is love, so foundationally when you accept Him into your marriage, He is the glue that holds everything together, without Him, love is not enough. Love without God reconciled in your heart and your home will take on a whole different secular meaning. The kingdom principle above is what marriage should be built on and not love. Love is the beautiful fruit. I recently counseled a beautiful wife and in my time together with her I had to remind her that love will not hold out if you are not equipped to navigate life together maturely and wholeheartedly. Maturity requires you to be the best version of yourself according to what God predestined you to be. It should never be based on what you get in return. Marriage is not an earthly contract, it’s a covenant, which means God has entrusted you to make a permanent commitment. In Genesis 2, we are to leave, cleave (be glued together), and become one flesh. In Matthew 19:6, Jesus said that what God has joined together we are to let no man separate. Proverbs 24 as your guiding light in your marriage you will open a door that will allow you to see beyond love. Real men and real women keep their eternal promises and they build a life through wisdom, establishing it on divine knowledge and they trust God as their eternal glue.

You are loved, Kris
