Sit with Me

A word from the heart of God: Sit with me.

Have you ever just had someone sit with you in a time of need? Often they don’t even say anything. They are just there with you and you feel their warmth, their care, and their love and immediately you don’t feel alone in your struggle. I remember many moments like that when I couldn’t even see the hour I was in. I had friends who just sat with me so I wouldn’t drown. Today I’m sensing a prompting where the Lord is saying: Sit with me. There is great beauty in silence, solitude, and stillness. Sitting in the presence of the Lord allows you to rest in His promises and His sovereignty. Psalm 91:1-2 says, “He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the Lord, ‘My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust’”. This scripture beautifully captures the safety of resting under God's wing. Today, I encourage you to sit with God.
