Step out on the waves

A word from the heart of God: Step out on the waves.

I was listening to a song recently and the lyrics were: “Step out on the waves beyond the fear and graves.” The lyrics ministered to me so profoundly. My son Jared’s birthday is coming up in May. It’s such an emotional time for me. One part of me is so rested in the revelation that Jared is at peace and gloriously joyful in heaven, while the other part of me, the mom, feels such anguish because I miss him so very much. Today’s word was so beautiful because it reminded to be like Peter and step out on the waves – to trust in Jesus to carry me above the water. Peter cried out, “Lord, save me!” and Jesus immediately stretched out his hand and caught him. The lesson for us all is to keep our focus on Jesus rather than on surrounding challenges. “Step out on the waves beyond fear and graves.” Jesus’s hand is extended to us all.
