Transactional

A word from the heart of God: Transactional.

When something is transactional, it relates to an exchange, or a “give-and-take” interaction where each party expects a specific return or benefit. Almost like a business deal. A lot of people have been throwing the word narcissist around on social media. Apparently, a narcissist doesn’t really have the ability to truly love. Everything they do revolves around a transactional exchange. This means that as long as you do what they want, give them what they believe they deserve, and treat them how they feel they’re entitled to be treated, they’re willing to exchange in a relationship with you. I think it’s important that we understand that this is not biblically how God designed relationships. Healthy relationships are built on love, patience, and forgiveness. “Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves.” Philippians 2:3. The pillars of a healthy relationship are trust, communication, respect, empathy, quality time, conflict resolution, and growth and independence. Please make sure the one you welcome into your heart is one who honors God with the above healthy pillars.
