When you repent
I think people throw this word around loosely without truly understanding what God expects from us when we stand before Him in repentance. Repentance holds a significant place in the Bible, demonstrating the transformative power of turning away from sin and seeking God’s grace. Repentance means a change in mindset which results in a true change of actions. 2 Chronicles 7:4 says, ”If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land,” Humility and transformation are the marks of true repentance. Fake repentance results in no change, no remorse, justification of one’s actions, repeating one’s error, looking to others to side with you in your error, and blaming the one you hurt for your choices. The Bible says in Matthew 3:7, “We bear fruit in keeping with our repentance.” True Repentance is a divine gift!
