Brighten

When I think of the word brighten, I think of someone saying I hope this brightens up your day. Brighten means to make or become more light. Proverbs 4:18 says, “But the path of the righteous is like the light of dawn, that shines brighter and brighter until the full light of day.” Sometimes being the better person doesn’t always initially feel good. That’s probably because we live in a world that rewards selfishness and not righteousness. Today's word reminds us that God always has the final say. There may be moments where you feel unappreciated, when clearly things appear to be unfair or unequal. That may be true in the world but God sees it much differently. When you honor God, when you choose God above all things and when you adhere to His word, it pays off generationally. Your choice brightens the path for those generations to come. That’s a promise. Don’t be distracted by immediate satisfaction. It’s fake and it’s fleeting. Every righteous choice you make is planted a hundredfold in your life and the lives of future generations. Remember; we reap what we sow! Wherever you go, make it your business to brighten up the room.

You are loved, Kris
