Avoid Hedonism

The word hedonism means the devotion to pleasure as the ultimate goal. People who seek pleasure usually end up disappointed because pleasure only temporarily satisfies and does not last. Real joy in life comes from within and is sustainable. It comes from a place of maturity. It comes when you learn to be content with who you are and where you are in life in the present. God wants you to enjoy life. He created it beautifully with that intent. The issue will never be enjoying the fullness of all life has to offer. The issue will always be the motive of your heart as you're enjoying everything. If you're addicted to thrills and temporary pleasures then faith will never be your primary focus. You will go from pleasure to pleasure seeking thrills instead of heart to heart seeking God. “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.” Matthew 5:8. Seek God and divine joyful pleasure will follow.
