Pruning

A word from the heart of God: Pruning.

Pruning is a critical part of farming. The purpose of pruning is to direct the tree's energy towards producing higher-quality, larger fruit rather than excessive wood. Powerful when you think about that. If you align this spiritually, I believe that we are the branches. We are joined to the vine (Jesus) and watered by the gardener (Father/God), who is the ruler/overseer of the vineyard. The branch has one assignment: produce fruit. To fulfill that purpose, the branch must abide and remain connected in a healthy manner to the vine. Pruning is not punishment. As the branches abide, the father prunes whatever hinders fruitfulness, such as attitudes, distractions, and misplaced loyalties. Pruning is evidence of God’s love and investment in us. When the branch submits to this pruning process, fruitfulness is guaranteed.
