Culture of Honor
This weekend, I was blessed to hear my Spiritual Father, Bishop Joseph Mattera, teach at a special church service. He spoke on practical ways to embrace a posture of honor in your life. He spoke about 8 foundational principles.
When you’re reminded
I love God for so many reasons, but one reason truly stands out to me. I love that God always reminds me of who I am, how much I’m loved, and all the beauty that I’m surrounded by.
Hold on to the Good
This is a very special word today. I believe God wants to minister to our hearts. We live in a world filled with darkness. Darkness is cruel, evil, unpredictable, manipulative, and painful. Today, God is reminding us that although darkness is amongst us, it does not have to control us, nor does it have to dilute who we are.
Aim for the impossible
One of the greatest earthly perks of walking with God is God’s promise to do the impossible. Luke 1:37 says, “For nothing will be impossible with God.” That’s a very strong statement right there. Could you imagine what your life would be like if you truly believed that nothing is impossible for God?
Possess the land
I read a post by Pastor Greg Locke and he said, “To possess the land means to CONTEND with the GIANTS.” We often think that if God has given something to us, we should have it without a fight.
Indifference
This is not a word you hear often. Indifference is a lack of interest, concern, or feeling toward someone or something. The Bible says in Revelation 3:11, “Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline, so be zealous and repent.”
Stop normalizing sin
The Bible says sin is defined as any thought, word, or action that violates God's will or falls short of His perfect, holy standard. When you normalize something, you bring something into conformity with a standard and make it acceptable.
Receiving Christ Himself
How do you position yourself to receive Christ Himself? I think it’s really important to understand that God sends His servants on assignments. You may encounter them without recognizing who they are. Matthew 10:40-42 declares, “He who receives you receives me.”
Divinely Protected
Some people are so divinely protected that God comes in and handles things on their behalf. I’ve learned that peace isn’t weakness. You don’t have to get revenge, you don’t have to be angry, bitter, and spiteful. Instead, you just have to dive deeper in your quest for intimacy with the Lord.
See it, claim it, take it
Vision and words are so powerful. You can’t claim something as yours until you believe it belongs to you. So many people coast through life without truly claiming what God has set aside for them. If God created you, then you have to believe He also created a life for you.
Trajectory
This is a great word and one that those in business should be very sensitive to. Trajectory is the path of an object through space, or the path of life that a person chooses. Trajectory to me means the width, depth, or course in which a person strives for in life.
God's promises come with persecution
In Mark 10:29-30, Jesus promises that anyone who sacrifices their home or family for His sake and the gospel will receive a “hundredfold” return in this present life (in the form of a spiritual community) alongside persecution, and ultimately, eternal life in the age to come.
Responsibilities and privileges
I have been pressing into God in prayer for a deeper revelation of covenant. During my quest, I’ve learned a few things: every covenant carries both responsibilities and privileges, the same King, who requires obedience, also guarantees provision.
When you decide
One of the greatest lessons I learned is that I’m not responsible for how others decide to treat me. Decisions are something we control. When you decide to do something, you make a choice to do it, and that choice invokes a direction and/or a consequence.
A song of the heart
I don't know about you, but there are certain songs that when I hear them, they resonate so closely to my heart. In the Bible, a “song” is a profound expression of the heart used for worship, celebration, lament, or instruction.
Sit in your Harvest
This is a very personal word for me today. Recently, I have been spending a lot of time with the Lord in prayer. In a very deep moment, I sensed the words “Sit in your harvest.”
Be generous
I found that generosity is a gift that keeps giving. If you ever want to feel better quickly, the easiest way to do that is to be generous. Generosity expands to many things.
Sovereignty
This is by far one of the most beautiful words in the entire world. God is the supreme, independent ruler of all creation.
