In the silence
I believe that we underestimate the power within silence. Silence can help us channel inner peace while emphasizing the importance of finding God in quietness.
Healing is like a shoreline
I heard someone say that healing is like standing on the beach, with the waves facing your back. There are days when you may feel like a small wave brushes against your ankles; those are the good days.
Time heals all wounds
I would have to slightly disagree with that statement. In my opinion, time isn’t designed to heal. It’s designed to grow. I think the difference is who you become in the process.
When you're tested
A test in life grabs you by the collar and says, “Are you who you say you are?” A test shows you who you really are at the core. Testing seasons reveal if you are only strong when things are easy or do you rise to the occasion with zeal and resilience when things are hard.
Wiggle Room
This is a funny word today. “Wiggle room” is an informal term meaning leeway, freedom, or flexibility to change plans, renegotiate terms, or adjust a decision.
Live each day as if it was your last
I’m sure you’ve heard this saying before. In essence, it means to appreciate life. So then, what does it mean to appreciate something? When you appreciate something, you value its worth and you are grateful for it.
Step out on the waves
I was listening to a song recently and the lyrics were: “Step out on the waves beyond the fear and graves.” The lyrics ministered to me so profoundly. My son Jared’s birthday is coming up in May.
New life bears evidence
Belief is not passive. My friend Shayne Payne, in his book Covenant, says belief is a transforming encounter that produces new birth. He says all things pass away, all things become new.
Covenant Claim
In order to understand this word, we need to understand the meaning of covenant and the meaning of claim. A covenant is a formal, binding partnership or solemn agreement between God and humans.
Not optional
So many people in life walk in lukewarm spaces. That means, they find ways to excuse behavior. Covenant does not permit selective obedience.
Silence the enemy
Here is a great question to ask. What silences an enemy immediately? The best way to come up with that answer is to imagine yourself in strong disagreement with a person.
Thanking God for our tomorrow
What would happen if you trained yourself to thank God in advance for everything He is doing today for your tomorrow? The blessing in that is all about divine trust.
A Narrow Gate
Luke 13:22-28 speaks about Jesus going through the cities and villages, teaching and journeying toward Jerusalem. Jesus said, “Strive to enter through the narrow gate, for many, I say to you, will seek to enter and will not be able.”
Before and After
Have you ever seen those home improvement shows on TV? Basically, they buy old neglected homes and transform them into beautiful, highly profitable investments.
Complacent
I’ve been feeling this word strongly lately. I personally feel that so many people are living in a fog, feeling secure while unaware of potential danger.
